My dad recently sent me this fascinating article that I read all the way through (yes, I'm one of those lazy readers who will often stop half way through once I've gotten the gist - but this article was too good for that - see if you can finish it too).
It is the New York Times' take on the science of junk food. And there's a lot more science, and a lot more money, behind junk food than you could ever imagine.

The New York Times have SUCH interesting articles. I also like reading their articles all the way, instead of scanning them and picking up keywords.
