DIY Junkie

I do love me a bit of a DIY. And I'm particularly pleased with how this one turned out. Even if Husband keeps chuckling at me - saying that a herd of impala got loose on my jeans. Psk. What does he know?

Hehe.

He's kinda right anyways. That was the *exact* look I was going for.

I'm also exceptionally happy with how they turned out.

The Best Damn Pea Soup Ever.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this cookbook before on this site, possibly even this exact recipe. But oh well, there's nothing like a little repetition to really drive a point home.

Damn right.

A made this soup recently - ok, maybe it was a few weeks ago, but that's still recently in my book. And it was scrummy-licious. Don't forget the parmesan for the end - I always do. Really truly.

Tuesday {Past Explorations}

There are little bits and pieces of our journey that got left behind. Due to time constraints, or just the overly high level of content during this time, or because sometimes I was too busy living the moment to post about it here. But it seems only right to fill in the gaps, to give each of those missed experiences their chance to shine. And here is one such event.

It was during our week of the New York City Pass - nearly six months ago now (I know, I can't believe it was that long ago either!). We had signed up for a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge - which in the heat of summer probably should have been done in a nicely air conditioned car, and definitely not wearing jeans. But you'll have to forgive my fashion faux pas that day, and the subsequent sweaty brow, and just enjoy the photos of New York City and the Brooklyn Bridge.

In any case, considering how chilly this winter has been, I certainly could use a sweat-inducing day such as this one again soon.

There's tons of interesting history about how the bridge was built, and it is quite a marvel considering how it was all done without modern day technology. Those people were genius, and a lot of them lost their lives in the process of this project of passion. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour, as having a well-informed guide definitely makes it a whole lot more interesting.

Brooklyn Bridge accomplished, we explored the neighbourhood of Dumbo, and snapped some pics of the bridge, and the city, from the other side of the river. What a perfect adventure.

I *LOVE* this apartment

Clean, fresh, bright and light. Filled with just enough fun patterns and colours. This is definitely my new design inspiration!

Rock n Roll Edge

As I mentioned yesterday, we shot two photo shoots on Friday. Here is the second of the two - a little bit more conceptual, a little bit more edgy, and a whole lot of awesome.

Wanna leave a comment but don't know how? I wrote a whole blog post about this very subject! Click here.

Hollywood Glam

I think I've mentioned before how much I like photographs. Only about a million times! I really do know how to go on about it. So it may seem a little strange how few actual photo shoots I've done in my life - at least, one's where I'm the photographer, not the model.

But lately, that is all set to change. See, I've started actually shooting. Planning, implementing, snapping away. And this shoot has to be my favourite so far. On Friday we did two shoots in one go: Hollywood Glam and Rock n Roll Edge.

Here are the snaps from Hollywood Glam:

And it was such fun! From the planning, to the styling, to getting up very early in the morning, to canvassing the neighbourhood, and sneaking on to people's front porches - it was all spectacular! Luckily I live in a suburb filled with inspiring houses, perfectly preened for photo shoots. Hehe.

Special thanks to Bree, the amazing model in these pics, for being beautiful, skinny, wonderful and fun all at the same time, and to Native Boutique for the use of these dresses.
